Bodyweight Strength Training

Using your own body weight is one of the easiest and most convenient forms of strength training. You can do it around your daily schedule, and best of all its free!!

Some of the benefits of strength training are ...

It will help you to control your weight. As you build muscle, your body will burn calories off faster and more efficiently

It will tone your muscles, giving you a firmer, tighter look.

It helps to strengthen your bones, and in turn will help to reduce your risk of osteoporosis and other bone related problems.

The following exercises are just a few suggestions that work to help strengthen and tone different areas of your body ...

Full Body
Jumping Jacks
Burpee's
Planks

Legs
Squats
Lunges
Step ups

Shoulders and arms
Press ups
Tricep dips
Arm circles (windmills)

Core
Crunches
Side plank
Oblique twist

You can take any of these exercises and form your own workout program to target specific areas.

Feel free to add any further info that may be beneficial in helping others learn the basics of body weight strength training
