Check out my dinner from last night

I created a new concoction. You'll need the following:

Cous Cous of a very high quality
Broccoli
Cucumber
Soy Sauce
Salt
Water
Spinach

Cook the cous cous. Pay attention to the bag's directions as it is easy to make the cous cous too moist with a surplus of water. Add salt to the water while it is boiling.

Dice the broccoli, cucumber and spinach.

Once the cous cous has been cooked and rested on an unheated surface for five minutes, empty it into a large bowl.

Mix in the diced cucumber, broccoli and spinach. Add soy sauce. Stir it all up and devour!

Ooo that sounds lovely! I'd never thought to put broccoli in it, I quite often have cucumber and spinach with couscous! Spinach is my favourite!

This sounds very good. I have had something a little similar with quinoa, but I don't like quinoa. I DO like couscous, though. I bet the broccoli adds nice texture.

That sounds like a delicious recipe, especially with the soy sauce

The soy sauce is really the key to this recipe. I load it on. If you don't add enough of it then the meal tastes way too plain. It's the salt in the soy sauce that gives it such a nice kick.

I used to make the recipe without the broccoli but recently amended the recipe to include it. It seemed too simple with just the spinach and cucumber added to the cous cous. Sometimes I will supplement diced tomatoes for the broccoli. I love spinach but I hardly notice it in this meal. It really blends in with the other ingredients.

Do you use raw broccoli or cook it first? As an aside, have you tried roasted broccoli? It's amazing!

I use raw broccoli. When in doubt I go raw. It is widely thought that the cooking process zaps foods of their vitamins and nutrients. I have tried roasted broccoli and it is amazing. My local grocer, Wegmans, often has seasoned roasted broccoli that is to die for.
