Lean Homemade Spicy Burgers

Lean homemade spicy chilli burgers with mozerella cheese

It really is as simple as it sounds!

Mix together lean mince with some beaten egg ... add slowly from cup, I find a full egg too gooey and add whatever ingredients you want. I used red onions, chilli seasoning and grated mozzarella cheese.

Divide the amount of burgers you want into balls and flatten with palm of your hand.

Cook as desired ... griddle pan, grill.

200 g chickpeas
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
5 sprigs of coriander
0.5 tsp. ground coriander
0.5 tsp. ground zira
0.5 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. flour
0.5 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. lemon juice
200 ml vegetable oil
freshly ground black pepper

Step 1
Fill the chickpeas with cold water and leave them in the fridge for 6-12 hours. Drain, rinse and chop the chickpeas with an immersion blender.
Step 2
Dice the onion into small cubes and chop the garlic. In a large bowl, combine the chopped chickpeas, onion and garlic, add the flour, finely chopped coriander, baking powder and spices, pour in the lemon juice and salt. Thoroughly mix the mass and leave for 5 minutes. Form 9-10 balls with wet hands.
Step 3.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep saucepan. Carefully drop the falafels and fry on all sides until golden, 5-7 minutes. Drain the falafels on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve the falafels hot or warm.
