Making "refried" beans

I love having refried beans in my tacos and other Mexican dishes, but they are so very bad for us. On the other hand, unadulterated pinto beans are actually pretty good for us. I have started making my own "refried" beans by taking a can of pinto beans, rinsing and draining them and pureeing them in the food processor. It is so good and I don't have to worry about all the added junk and fat.

I love refried beans. I've made my own just by mashing up pinto beans that I cooked on the stove with jalapenos and onions.

You can buy canned refried beans that are fat free and they are really good. I love Mexican food.

That's a great idea! I love refried beans, too, but I've also been averse to the kind that comes out of a can. Being able to make it yourself, however, seems much more appetizing. I think I'm going to try out your recipe, Jeans!
