Becoming a Slimming World consultant

I am still a way off target but I am interested in becoming a consultant sometime in the future. Has anyone else ever thought about doing this? I am sure you will have to maintain your weight for a certain amount of time before applying.

Tbh im not sure if you do need to be at maintain level. Just to be doing well and not a huge amount way from target. I know of someone who is just starting out and i dont think shes at her target yet. Im not sure shes joined this forum tho so cant point you in her direction x

I'll ask her when i get chance x

Thanks Nibbler. I haven't asked anyone official, so just assumed you would have to be at target. I can see why being close would be okay, as your experience would be still fresh.

I went to a consulting recruitment thing with my dad yesterday as he was invited so could try to answer any questions you have x

Main points
They like you to be at least half way through your journey but you don't have to be at target.
You have to have experience of the diet personally
They are currently starting recruitment process that will see you in group for jan (in Essex at least)
The start up costs for single franchise (1 group-can have as many sessions on same franchise as long as same venue and all run one after the other ie 3.30 5.30 and 7.30) is just under £1000! This includes training all equipment all promotional stuff etc

Commission is based on how many members attend your group and changes with each week if numbers change
Anything under 25 members weighing in is 25% of takings 25-50 is 40% 70+ is 50% roughly as haven't got notes to hand.

You are self employed and responsible for banking takings advertising paying hall rents etc

I have been a Slimming World Consultant and I loved it. You do not have to be at target, what Slimming World says is that you must have your weight 'under control'. It may be that you still go to your group and work on your weight at the same time as running your own group.
