Sunday Night Chocolate Binge!!

Hi everyone,

I started SW nearly 2 weeks ago, I have been eating 'healthily' for many years I only have about 5lbs to lose and I am a healthy weight.
This year I am a bridesmaid and I am going on holiday so obviously want to look and feel good.
So about 10 days in, after religiously sticking to plan, I am feeling groggy, moody and agitated. This lead me to my partner's chocolate cupboard last night and I ended up eating about 4 multipack chocolate bars! :-(
If I am completely honest I did feel a lot better after indulging but I know it may mean that I do not lose any weight this week..

I just want an opinion - do you think my mood and craving for chocolate is just because I am used to having small amounts of it and I have completely cut it out?

In short, yes.
If you completely cut something out of your diet, then you will start to crave it and you'll end up binging on it.

If you've just had the one really bad day where you've binged, it may not affect your loss too much. As long as you got right back on plan today, that's the best way to pull it back
Don't let it dishearten you for the rest of the week, and just keep having small amounts to keep those pesky cravings away

don't worry it happens to the best of us! Have you been following SW? I found when I started there was a period about 10-14 days in when my body was crying out for "junk" in the form of chocolate, biscuits and chocolate biscuits. So I ate them. I've still managed to lose 2 stone, and you will also lose weight despite it. Feeling guilty is the worst thing to do, though perfectly natural. Don't dwell and continue on as if it never happened. It's a minor blip in the grand scheme of things.

Also, yes - cold turkey though effective for some things doesn't really work for chocolate etc.. have a little bit of what you fancy

Thanks Ernie I think I have just been so strict as I only have 5lbs left to lose in total but I definitely need a few syns in my diet to prevent another binge!

You have to use some syns every day.
Even if it's just 5 each day.
It not only helps curb any cravings, but it helps your body process all the good foods too. Adding some fats to your diet is a good thing because your body needs them to help process everything else

Everything in moderation I believe in... and a day off (also moderation) can keep you on track.

Have you tried other sweet things?

I believe on SW little meringue nexts are low syn I had them all the time with yog and berries.
Choc Shot on the fresh berries?
Also try buying the frozen berries/summer fruits amazingly sweet defrosted with natural yog!

It's definitely advised to use syns if you aren't like mentioned!

BUT all aside I think most people are guilty of just going **** it. Hey you've done it, don't give yourself a hard time just move on from it x
