Christmas 2016 Challenge

Starting Monday 5th September, there's sixteen weigh-ins (no matter what your weigh-in day) until Christmas. If all of us lost 2lb a week, that would be a 32lb loss for each and every one of us before all that turkey! That's 2st 4lb!

If you want to set a goal, that's great. If you're just focusing on getting losses, that's great too! No pressure here, just a celebration of what we can do as a group when we all put our minds to it.

From Monday 5th September onwards, if you want to join in the challenge, just copy and paste the list in the most recent reply to the thread with your own losses.

Participants and Losses (updated Friday 2nd September):

Jennie.sto - 15lb to lose - 0lb lost - 15lb to go
Kaybird296 - 32lb to lose - 0lb lost - 32lb to go
sarah2me - 21lb to lose - 0lb lost - 21lb to go
sarahc4536 - weekly losses
Stanleys Mum - 21lb to lose - 0lb lost - 21lb to go

Onwards and downwards!

I'd join in.

Rather than you keeping a list, we've previously just had a list of names with our weight losses on and we've just copied and pasted each time and updated it. It helped everyone to see where we were all up to
For example, this was copied from one of our previous threads

PurpleJ- 7lbs to lose - 4lbs lost - 3lb to go
HevJ- 7lbs to lose- 0lbs lost
Spoonymoose - 7lb to lose - 0.5lb lost - 6.5lb to go
AliCat - 7lb to lose - 3lb lost - 4lb to go
Thistle - 7lb to lose - 6lb lost - 1lb to go
Sheenaco - 3lb to lose - 1.8lb lost - 1.2lb to go
Nic_h 7lb to lose - 4.5lb - 2.5lb to go
Dirtydancing - 8lb lost
Sarahc4536 - 7lb to lose - 3.5lb loss - 3.5lb to go
PaulB - 9lb to lose - 4lb lost - 5lb to go

Just an idea

So if I'm understanding right, people set a target they want to achieve by Christmas and then it gets kept track of like above? That seems like a really good way of doing it.

Okie dokie, so we'll do it like this:

I'll be starting the challenge on Monday. Between now and then, anyone participating in the challenge will have sixteen weeks to hit their Christmas weight loss target. It can be anything you want. We can keep a running list of who has lost what, and how much they've got left to go. It'll be fun to see how much we can lose as a group!

So far:

Kaybird296 - 32lb to lose - 0lb lost - 32lb to go
sarahc4536 - ? to lose - 0lb lost - ? to go
Jennie.sto - 15lb to lose - 0lb lost - 15lb to go

I'll update this in the main post as well.

It doesn't have to be like that, if you don't want to set a goal you don't have to. You could do it just as someone's name and their current loss to date... Up to you guys

If you want to join in you just copy and paste the list into a new post, add your name to the bottom and voila!

Would you prefer it to be run that way?

Sarah (SM), have added you to the list.

Oh no, you ladies run it how you like, I was only suggesting what we've done previously, that was all
I did think it was nice to be able to see where we all were, but if you want to do it another way you go for it

And I have no target in mind, just losses. I've found that when I set a target and then if I don't meet that target for whatever reason, I psychologically beat myself up about it. I always have and always will. And I've tried to change my mindset about it, and change other things, but it doesn't work lol

So for me, no target planned for now, I'll just see how far I get

I totally get what you mean about beating yourself up when you miss a target or a deadline that you've set for yourself. It's easy to spiral into that sense of failure when really, a lot of it is down to your body and what it's decided to do that week!

I'll edit the main post to say how to join in--I like your way better
