I'm with you PJ

I'm not setting any weekly targets as such, because if/when I don't hit them I get disappointed and it doesn't work out well the week after

So it was 3lb off for me last night, and I'm just aiming to lose something each week. As long as it's a loss I'll be happy

YAY - You don't need to get there you will get there.

I'd like to be squatting 90kg by end of year - even just a 1 rep
I'd like to be floor pressing (low rep) 50kg by end of year
I'd like to complete the widowmaker (20 squats no rest) with 70kg by end of year

Go wobbles!! great goals and targets. Maybe I should join you in setting a target, I still have it half in my mind to do a comp next year again - they're addictive - if I can get my training on track properly and increase my numbers / lose weight.

Sarah - great goal also it's such a mental game isn't it.

I will stick to mine for now and chew over a goal or two for physical aspects. I'd like to keep running I must admit as it's helping my overall cardio which I'm guilty of avoiding when I just lift weights.

I plan on starting running at some point, but I need to get back on track with the losses first, and then quit using the e-cig too, and then my asthma will improve meaning I won't keel over like a numpty after 'running' 10 feet

ahh Sarah believe me I started out like that too - I started just after xmas and couldn't run for a minute, even now I take the odd walk break of 30 seconds to re-coup. There is a programme called 'Jeff Galloway' that has a theory by marathon distance runners, that walk breaks make our overtime runs faster as our bodies perform better. Anyway.. also had a trip to the GP as my chest has always played up when I run even when I was skinny and fit, he very gently laughed at my 'wonder if it's worth talking to you about..' kind of question and reassured me that I'd been suffering from asthma all these years it's just only evident if I do cardio!! There was I just thinking I wasn't cut out for running (I still think that but take a pump before I try it)! lol

Anyway enough natter. I weighed tonight and lost 1.5lb - taking me half a lb under my target, it's a temp target not a real one. I'm 1.5lb away from my 3 stone award I hit, so need to focus on that, and then see where I want to go from there.. i.e. re-set target.
