Alternative "milk"

I've been using more almond, soy, and coconut milk lately instead of regular dairy. It costs a little more but it doesn't have the antibiotics and growth hormones in it like the cow's milk products do. It also seems to last a lot longer before it goes bad.

Do you use any of these? Which do you prefer?

I am trying to stay away from having too may soy products because of the GMO issue. I love the almond and coconut kind though.

I use almond milk all the time now. It's great in coffee and cereal. Oh yes, it's also perfect for dunking biscotti. I agree that it lasts longer than cow's milk.

I love almond milk! I stopped buying it though cos everyone else in the house drinks normal milk and it seemed a waste just for me! The kids love it though. What puts me off cows milk is they're allowed to have a certain amount of puss in it

Oh thanks, Princess! Now I will be imagining that I can taste that in any cow's milk that I drink. Ha ha, I have an overly vivid imagination anyhow, always imagining that the milk is slightly sour, or that the chicken smells a little "off".

Sorry I'm the same though, I'm so paranoid about milk and meat! The smell of jam's always turned my stomach, it always smells off to me!

It's true! The milk is allowed to have a certain amount of disgusting things in it and I always feel bad for those poor dairy cows with their udders hooked up to machines night and day.

Well, I've done it. I have gone vegan. I'm in my first year and I feel perfectly fine. Milk is linked to prostate cancer in men. Anything from an animal is bad news including the skin (meat) in my opinion. Terrible karma, friends. Please live your lives by the original golden rule.
