What is wrong with it?

I tried to make my first milkshake today and it turned out okay but it seems like something is missing. Are there certain ingredients that you always need to add no matter what type of shake you are making?

Most seem to have banana in to thicken them I think! I've found putting ice in and using a hand blender seems to thicken things up though!

You mean taste wise something was missing? What did you add?

I caught a tiny recipe yesterday that said most need to have ice cream in them, but I ended up using milk. Could that be the case? I thought at first maybe I was missing sugar too but I thought with the fruits it would be okay.

You could try a heavy cream or a yogurt instead of ice cream. Not sure how that would work out. The ones I make are usually more like a smoothie than a milkshake.

I usually do smoothies too. Be careful adding ice cream. Be sure to use a sugar-free or low fat otherwise you are defeating the purpose of eating healthy and losing weight.

Ice, perhaps? Fruit milkshakes are huge in my household, and the recipe is pretty simple: 1 cup milk, 1 cup ice, and fruit. For a thicker consistency, I'll either add more fruit or reduce the amount of milk.

Crushed ice is key along with banana and berries. The berries really do add a lot of flavor. I used to put honey in my shakes but now I use agave. It tastes nearly as good.

Crushed ice sounds like a perfect idea, I remember doing this with the Cambridge shakes in the blender!

I think I might need to try the cream trick. I found a random recipe online and I swear I followed it so either it was wrong or maybe the fruits I used were on their way out the door.
