Slim and Save 10 week challenge

Hello all,

I've had enough of going on about how much weight I've put on, how fat I feel and not doing anything about it. I ruined my holiday by feeling like crap about my weight and I am not prepared to feel like this again.

I'm currently 13 stone 1 and at least a stone overweight. My plan is to go the whole hog (over Xmas is mental I know) and lose the 2 stone I have put on plus an extra one to finally get me to my goal weight. I've lost 5 stone three years ago, 4 of which was using slim and save so I'm gutted that I've gone back up to this weight after working so hard to keep it off, literally gaining a stone in the past 6 months.

I have a couple of planned breaks, but by break I mean more of a cheat meal. I don't intend on going off track for a full day because I know I will struggle to get back on track again if I do.

So day one is done, 4 shakes down. Feeling a bit grumbly but other than that not too hungry at all. I'm still considering if I should weigh in weekly, monthly or wait until my 10 weeks is up. Any suggestions would be fab xxx

So day two is well underway. Looking forward to being in ketosis in the next couple of days and not feeling the hunger pangs as much.

Currently sitting in the canteen and work with people eating curries, full roasts and of course chocolate and crisps. I tend to think about food more when doing total meal replacement and I think that's what makes it harder. Craving things that I wouldn't usually want to eat. Just gonna think about the cellulite building all over my thighs and bum, that should put me off xxx

Waiting up for the apprentice then getting in bed. Survived day 2. Still feeling a bit hungry but just filling up on water. Managing quite well to keep it under wraps at work that I'm doing the shakes and prefer to keep it that way for as long as possible. The girl sitting next to me has lost 8lbs on her healthy eating kick in 3 weeks so I'm hoping to at least match that. She doesn't know it but we're now in competition 😂😂 xxx

I feel like I'm the only person on here that's heard of slim and save let alone doing it! Any way I can change this into the journal page? xxx

Well seems like I'm gonna be stuck talking to myself!

Day 3 and I'm 3 shakes down and about to go to the gym. First time in a week due to my holiday, not sure how I feel about that! Be glad when I get back into my routine again. My fitness has always been spot on its just the eating side of things that have let me down recently. They say 80% is what you eat don't they? So hooppefully should start to see some good results xxx

Hi I'm not doing slim and save, actually I've never heard of it. What does it entail? I'm doing Slimming world and I think those threads are the busiest ones on here. I admire your determination to drink shakes etc over Christmas, I think I would miss Christmas dinner too much haha!

Hi ernie, nice for someone to drop by ha! Slim and save is similar to Cambridge just with better tasting Neal packs and less money. There are meal packs and bars I can have so will order them when I get paid, currently using up ones I already have.

I've tried slimming world before but I find it difficult to plan and prepare everything so didn't do so well at it. I think keeping myself out if the cupboards and fridge is the best option for me to actually shift the pounds but slimming world would be a good way to maintain. I have just invested in a slow cooker so I am planning on home cooking once my challenge is up.

I'm still going to have Xmas dinner! Just won't be having the pudding and all the other Xmas treats with it. My mum would kill me if I sat at the table with a shake haha xxx

Haha I think my mum would too! Good on you for your commitment though, How long are you doing slim and save for? I definitely think SW is a good diet to maintain on (and not just because Im doing it ) but I think it is just teaching you how to eat a healthy-ish diet with a few treats.

Thank you, I am only day 4 though so could all change ha! I found being on a forum last time really helped but that forum seems to have closed now. I did a stint of 7 weeks last time without weighing myself and found that helped me keep motivated (some might find that strange) and averaged a 4lb loss per week. I'm planning on doing 10 weeks this time because I want to get to 10 stone which I didn't achieve last time due to all the compliments I was getting about the weight loss, I kind of stuck where I was.

How long have you been on slimming world and how have you done so far? xxx
