What to add to veggies?

I am trying to experiment with veggie liquid shakes. What are you adding to the veggies to make it taste better? I've seen some people add yogurt but that sounds really gross (with veggies). Anyone have recipes to share?

I think you might be able to make it work with yogurt but I have to ask, what types of veggies are you using? Are you adding any fruits in?

If you would add some apple juice, I'll be it would taste better. Also, carrot juice has some natural sweetness. What kinds of vegetables are you using? That would help us make better suggestions.

Most vegetable-based shakes I've seen use a little apple juice and/or a banana. I hadn't considered carrot juice or yogurt but I can see how both might work, depending on the other ingredients.

Tomato juice would be a good addition. I think that's because I really like tomato juice and V8 juice. I don't think I could drink vegetables without it being tomato based. I have had some really delicious homemade carrot, spinach, wheat grass juice that a friend made. I am not sure what else she mixed in but she has one of those super expensive juicer machines.

When I was juicing, I added fruits in with the veggies to offset the bitterness of whatever vegetables I was juicing. I think I started out 3/4 fruit and 1/4 veggies, then leveled it out half and half, and then towards the end, I had managed to get it 3/4 veggies and just 1/4 fruit.

Just replied to a thread about "shakes" and don't know why I only considered the slimfast style shakes, never thought about veg style ones. How do you do it? Is it like a smoothy? Can't say it sounds more appealing as slimfast but guess doing it yourself you can make to taste

Don't you have to be careful? Don't fruits etc still have a lot of sugars in them?
