Confused about carbs in fruits

I have heard that the carbs and sugars in fruits can be just as bad for you as regular sugars and carbs. Can someone explain to me the difference as I love fruit as a snack (especially in the summer). Maybe I should cut back if I want to lose more weight...?

The thing with fruit is that it is really high on the glycemic index which means it turns very quickly to sugar in your blood stream after eating it. Generally, fruits with a lower glycemic index have more fiber so they digest slower and give you a more steady source of energy.

Cherries and plums are about the best and watermelon and pineapple have the highest glycemic load.

Yep, berries are low GI too and apples are ok

I must say I don think it's great to eat loads of fruit just because "it's healthy" and seasonal is best but it's certainly better than many of the other things we use to sastify a sweet craving.

You would want to eat fruits that are lower on Glycemic Index and eat less of the ones that have a higher sugar content. Here is a list that you might find helpful.

Correct, berries are low GI as well and pieces of fruit are alright

I must say I wear think its extraordinary to consume heaps of soil grown foods only on the grounds that "its sound" and occasional is best however its surely superior to huge numbers of alternate things we use to sastify a sweet longing for.

Simple natural sugar is found in fruits, whereas starch is the primary carbohydrate in bread. Certain bread can also be processed with simple sugar added to them. According to the type of bread, fiber may be found in both fruit and bread.
