Hello everyone

I was diagnosed as pre -diabetic last August. Doctor said I was obese and needed a complete lifestyle change. At the time I was just under 17st at just over 5' 8" inches tall. I'd been struggling with my weight for quite a while. My belly was massive! I was beginning to outgrow my waist 38" trousers and when I saw myself in photos I really looked bloated and unhealthy. A friend had told me about a particular low carb diet and I decided to try it. Within 2 months the weight absolutely started to roll off me. I was so happy that I decided to continue with the diet. When I went back to the doctor in January, she was really shocked!

I've dropped down 2 waist sizes back to a 34". Which I haven't been since I was in my 20's and I feel great! My blood sugar is now also back to a normal level and so is my cholesterol.

I guess I'm joining this group because I want to take things a step further and maintain the right mindset. I'm now starting to look at gym memberships etc. I've never really been into health trends, but I think that if I don't maintain the right mindset, it might be possible to get complacent and relapse.

That's amazing! Congrats on the low blood sugar and cholesterol

The one thing I'm looking forward to doing again at some point it getting back into a gym. I loved going, I'd get up really early and workout before work, and I loved it.

Welcome to Social Slimmers

That's great you want to maintain your health and in fact improve it. Being heavily over weight myself at the beginning that's how I started and progressed. Once you zone in on the exercise it becomes part of who your are ... you life, well for most.
