Hello there!

Hello I’m not sure what to write here.
I’m 14 and I’m not sure if I’m overweight or not. I’ve got a belly and my thighs are huge. Lots of people say that’s a puberty thing but I’ve been overeating since I was 7 and I still am. When I hit my teens years I started having doubts about my self image and kept trying to eat healthier.

I am 170cm tall and I weigh 64kg. Is this overweight? I’ve been looking at lost of charts and they all say that I’m a healthy weight, but I don’t look like that.
And my mother mentioned that I need to eat healthier. And every time I play Wii Fit it always says overweight. I’m confused, what am I?

It's a tough time @ 14. When comparing yourself to others body image can really get you down. Puberty ain't fun; just keep in mind that the body had a habit of growing outwards before growing upwards. I wouldn't take Wii Fit to heart. It goes based on a computer program and not real life. You are at a good age (especially as you are asking questions) that you can yourself into a healthy routine before you get too much older (believe me, sorting that healthy lifestyle when you are older is so much harder in later life).

Welcome to the forum Maybe make a post on one of the dieting forums and someone can give you some info.

StirCrazy thanks! No I shouldn’t follow a game but the thoughts about being overweight are still there. I’ll still continue playing it because it’s fun, but I won’t 100% believe what it says.
But I’d like to know if 64kg is overweight. Is it average or is it overweight?

Welcome Pumpkin

Firstly, as StirCrazy said, don't take what the Wii says to heart. By all means still use it and keep up with the activities, because like you say it is fun and there's nothing wrong with doing a little exercise at the same time
Secondly, as you are still growing, your height and weight will still change over the next few years.

If you are concerned about your weight, have you asked the doctor? I would definitely suggest eating healthy is always a good thing, especially if you've got a habit of eating less healthy things (I'll be honest, I absolutely did at your age! And still do lol)
