Hi and welcome

How frustrating for you on the weight loss / gain front. A lot of us here have journals that we post our food intake and general feelings in.

I hope the withdrawal from your meds go well for you - I've been on multiple anti-D's, and am on anti-psychotic now due to being diagnosed bipolar just over a year ago. Both made me gain a lot of weight so perhaps that will help somewhat.

Have you thought about going along to Slimming world? it's healthy eating and I'm sure you could work round your bypass if you have small meals etc? with support from a consultant you'd have accountability too. It's a healthy eating plan rather than a 'diet' so you'd be eating the right foods to help you lose weight and stay healthy - which is priority especially after surgery from my understanding (which is admittedly limited).

Hope you enjoy the board and find it supportive, hope to see you around.

Hi chezandy, welcome to Social Slimmers.

Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time with losing weight. We've all been there and know how disheartening it can be, it must be worse having gone through the worry and pain of a gastric bypass. You are in the right place though, everyone is really supportive and full of lots of useful advise.

I recently joined Slimming World and love the way that they promote healthy eating rather than a faddy diet. As PurpleJ said, it should work well with your bypass, though would probably be a good idea to talk with your doctor first if you are considering it.

Hi Chezandy,

Welcome to Social Slimmers.

A good friend of mine went through the same procedure. Drink 2-3 litres of water a day and eat healthy. Do you have any after care advise? My friend moved between various appointments and the after care actually sucked.
