Another newbie.

Hi all!
Just found this site last night. I went hunting for more weight loss tidbits after reading "It Was Me All Along". In it I found one piece of advice that rang true. That was when your strength is waning tell yourself you only have to make it through one more day, or even one more meal. I've been trying to use that the last couple of days.
I am a 48 year old mother of two and veterinarian. Until I had my second child weight wasn't a problem for me. I gained 50lb during my first pregnancy but lost it fairly quickly. After the second (who is now 17 years old, so I can't call it baby fat) I just can't budge it. Over the years I've crept up and now stand at 219. I work out hard - Crossfit 3-4 times a week - and I really try to eat healthy. I have found that my willpower wanes as the day goes on. I know I need to change my eating habits. I need to eat more fruit and veggies. So here I am, looking for help and guidance and any tip that may have worked for you. A 70lb weight loss is daunting for me at the moment.

Hi Alison,
I wish I could be a vegetarian. I've tried but I don't like enough fruits and veggies to make it work. I am a veterinarian, which is sometimes enough to make me REALLY want to be a vegetarian. As it is I try to eat as much organic and locally grown as possible. Right now I'm trying to stick to more Paleo than anything, but even that is hard because I love bread and carbs.

Hi vetmom!

Crossfit is pretty intense usually isn't it? I know a friends friend runs one and she said it's evil lol

I lost over 60lbs within a year in 2013/14 .. I followed SW for a couple of months then went it along and keeping my carbs down. I now try to eat 'clean' as much as I can. I'm terrible for keping up with my water although I know it helps!

Hope to see you around the forum
