Hello fellow dieters!

Hello all.
I heard about this forum from a wise lady who told me I should share some of my recipes with you all. I'm currently following Atkins so all low/no carb.

A bit about me.
I'm 36, married, 3 children (12,9 & 6).
When I was 20 I was a size 10.... And thought I was fat 🙈. Then I met my husband and got 'comfortable' and then pregnant, and ballooned to a size 22/24. I was miserable. So I did Slimming World for a while and lost a good chunk of weight getting to about a 16.... And here I stayed until after my third pregnancy when I decided enough was enough. I had a friend who was literally shrinking in front of my eyes on a weekly basis.... I asked what her secret was and discovered the Cambridge Weight Plan. It was amazing!!!!!! I got down to a 12 and felt better than I had felt in years... So much so that I became a consultant for the weight plan myself.

And then my life was turned upside down.
In 2012 my back went and after 3 months of excruciating pain I was rushed into emergency spinal surgery for Cauda Equina Syndrome. I was within hours of being paralysed. Very scary. My recovery was pretty good though and a year later I was determined to lose the weight that I had piled back on from lack of ability to exercise.
Then february 2014 the warning signs were back again. Back pain... Neurological issues... Again, Emergency surgery for Cauda Equina in April 2014. This time it left me with disc degenerative disease, arachnoiditis and failed back surgery syndrome. I knew I would need another surgery but hoped if I lost weight the pressure on my back would be less. I couldn't shift it though. All the drugs and still being in pain meant no exercise and craving crappy foods.

And then September was strike three. I ended up in hospital for a whole month, unable to go home as my discs had re herniated and were compressing my spinal chord again causing my right leg to be paralysed and I was bed/wheelchair bound. Another surgery later and here I am three months post op determined that my next surgery (multilevel spinal fusion) will be a long way off!!

I've been doing Atkins now for 2 weeks and I feel great. So much so that ive actually dropped my pain/nerve meds as reducing carbs seems to have down some kind of magic!!

Anyways. That's me.
I started at 225lbs. I'm now at 206.2. My goal is 147.

Let's do it!!!!!!

Ouch that sounds amazingly bad. I hope you get better soon

Think if that was me I'd be feeling sorry for myself and comfort eating, although feeling like that being in the kitchen cooking a healthy meal is probably the last thing you'd want to be doing

How are you doing on the Atkins? I looked into that but couldn't find enough meal combinations. Probably didn't help that I had to keep checking on every ingredient to see if it was allowed it or not Maybe if you post enough of your recipes I might give it a go again

Thanks Mitch!

Brekkie is usually just a cup of coffee made with full fat cream as that's quite filling!
But I sometimes also have buttery scrambled eggs... With maybe some ham through it.
Lunch is tuna/chicken mayo with loads of salad.
Dinner usually some form of crispy fat meat with veg and a sauce made out of double cream.
One of my faves is cream, mustard, tarragon and pepper.
Cheeses for snacks.... Cucumbers dipped in Mayo/cream cheese.
I've just posted a recipe for chocolate cake too. Amazing!!!
I will post some other recipes such as courgette noodles. Yum!
