Meet The Social Slimmers' Team

Name: Charlene
Bit About Me:I'm in my 30's, live in the North West UK and have 2 beautiful young daughters. I enjoy socialising in and out, crafts (when I have time), shopping, days out with my kids, baking, online networking and you will soon learn I like to have a vodka on the weekend.
My Journey: I started on slimming world and changed a lot about me; from up to 20 coffees a day with 2 sugars to 5 coffees with 1 sugar, butter to lighter spread, no ready salted crisps for breakfast (ha), portion control, avoiding skipping meals, sensible eating times, cooking without fat and less carbs. I moved to calorie counting and joined the gym for strength training and cardio. I use meal supplements for breakfast and extra for protein on gym days, I adapt these to me and do not follow a specific shake diet. Goal is a comfortable size 12 regardless of weight/BMI.

Bit About Me: I'm a mother of 2 (4 years and 10 months), who loves fashion, make-up, hair and anything girly
My Journey: my journey is mainly a fitness and strength journey, although that goes hand in hand with nutrition and a good diet. I workout 5 times a week with the main intention of building lean muscle and strength. I am currently also training to run the 2013 Race for life along with befit

Bit About Me: Just turn 38 ! Married as well and i have 2 boys ( 20 months and 3.5 years ) and i am expecting number 3 . I live in St Albans for over a year now but we are from San Francisco and i do hope to get back there soon . ( no offence but your weather is horrid ! lol ) . We moved in the UK just after having Castiel and I had never lost the pregnancy weight until January 2013 when I thought enough was enough and i had to do something about my state of mind and body!
My Journey: I truly believe that in order to be fit or in order to feel in a good place mentally you have to work out both in the same times ( you eat crap you feel crap ! your exercise and you feel strong ). So i started to exercise again everyday and watch my food intake . Lost over 25 pounds in 8 weeks . Now I am pregnant I am trying my best to stay in shape mentally and physically until the birth . I know i will have to lose some more weight once baby is here but with the right tools and supports I know I will be available do it again .

Bit About Me: Hi, I'm 40 (gulp) and mum to 6! My youngest is 2 and oldest is 22! Keeps me young I don't have much 'me' time but I'm into the benefits of essential oils in health and well being. I've recently completed a course which I loved, also love all things fitness/diet related.
My Journey: My journey began, like a lot of women's. The birth of a baby My little one is 2 and I put on over 3 stone during the pregnancy. I lost 2 stone of that in weeks and thought this is it, easy. WRONG! I went onto pile on another stone within a year of his birth. Last year I lost 1 stone of that and maintained it for 6 months. I put a few lbs back on at Christmas and restarted my next stage of my journey in January this year. I've now lost 15lbs this year and about 28/29lbs from last year. Currently lower than pre- pregnancy weight and just 5lbs away from normal bmi. Aiming for roughly another maybe 12-14max lbs and then maintenance all the way I'm following weight watchers and exercising at home. I've got a treadmill, bike and X trainer and numerous fitness DVD's.

Bit about me: Im 31. Married with 2 children. I live in South Yorkshire. I love to shop, and trawling through the internet . At present I'm interested in volunteer work working with children, and hope to make a career of it one day.
My Journey: I have had weight problems since childhood. Have done various diets, without success. In 2009 I had a Gastric Bypass and went on to lose 8st. At the end of that year we moved house and weeks later i had my first miscarriage and just started to comfort eat again. Then i had an ectopic pregnancy, and later fell pregnancy with my youngest. The weight piled back on, approx 7stThis year felt the right time to join SW. Didn't have a clue how long I'd last, my first goal was to lose 1 stone and take it from there. I exercise at home on the exercise bike. And as I have lost the weight I find myself more active, with much more energy. I still have a long way to go, but I can relate to most people, because I have more or less been there and done it!
