Is there a way to be pregnant and maintain previous weight loss healthily? We are talking about baby number three, but I am FINALLY losing some weight so I am a little hesitant to put it all back on.

Slimming world's good during pregnancy! I know someone who does it and she actually lost weight whilst pregnant. Because it's about eating the right things rather than cutting down on what you're eating, it's safe to follow whilst pregnant x

Diet and fitness is safe to follow during pregnancy

Good luck trying for #3 if you do

The NHS website say "Most pregnant women gain between 8kg and 14kg (17.5lb to 30lb)" I imagine that is the normal gain to expect. Eat healthily, pregnancy can be an excuse or like the time of month crave bad food which would be the worst for me

There are calculators available on line like this one:

My partner and I have decided that it's time to plan on getting our first baby. I was hoping to wait until I lose a bit more weight, then I figured, I'll gain it all during pregnancy anyway. I'm wondering; how much weight does a healthy woman gain during pregnancy, and how quickly can I lose that weight after delivery?

Don't worry too much about it. After the first baby, it all comes off for most people. I used to weigh 50kg before I first got pregnant. My final pregnancy weight was 65kg and I thought I'd look like an elephant forever! I breastfed exclusively for the first six months, and I was back to my normal weight in just four months. Just make sure you are healthy before, during and after pregnancy; that's what matters most. Good luck to you and your partner.

When you're pregnant, you're going to gain weight -- go ahead and put that strong in your mind! However, you don't have to balloon up 50 or 60 pounds. If you eat healthy and exercise, you'll only gain about 15-25 pounds if you're carrying one child and I think about 35 pounds or so if you wind up with twins (eek!). Most of that will be the child and the afterbirth, and you shouldn't wind up with too much weight to lose afterward. In addition, breastfeeding will boost your metabolism and burn about another 500 calories a day over normal, helping you to get the last of that weight off relatively quickly. You just have to be careful not to fall into that mindset of eating two helpings of everything because you're "eating for two."

It is inevitable that you will gain some weight in your pregnancy. It's unavoidable. The key is to make good choices and not overeat but not to undereat either. I knows pregnant people who have put small amounts of weight on. When I was pregnant I used it as an excuse to eat what I wanted

Gaining weight during pregnancy does not mean you are gaining a lot of fat. There is a baby growing in there! If you continue to eat healthily and exercise to the level that your doctor is comfortable, you may find that you have less excess fat at the end of your pregnancy than when you started!

My baby is 12 weeks old. I started the pregnancy at 218lbs and gained 12.5 lbs. I was back down to 218 lbs two weeks after giving birth. My son was 1oz off 10 lbs.
Because I was so big to begin with I was advised to only gain 11-20 lbs so I was very happy I gained enough for a healthy pregnancy/baby

My first pregnancy 20 years ago I gained 4 stone I've never got back down to 9.5 stone
