Do some vitamins make you gain weight?

I have been doing SW quite a while now and am getting close to target.

I started taking Wellwoman tablets (one a day) for the last month.

I'm not trying to shift the blame, but I have been gaining every time I weigh in at group and it seems to coincide with me taking these tablets and I'm wondering if they're making me retain water.

I have just finished a month box of these and am going to stop them to see if it makes any difference.

Has anyone else had experience of this please?

Thanks in advance.

I would be surprised if it was the vitamins. Many of them are water soluble and we just pee out what we don't need. However, I take quite a few for my fibromyalgia - vits b and d, ginseng and evening primrose - and I'd hate to think they were hindering my losses as I couldn't do without them. Like you, I'm also close to target. Well actually I got there and have had some gains since Xmas. But I'm finding it much harder to shift than the early days when I had more to lose 🤔

I'm with Ali, if be surprised if it was the vitamins too... I don't take any personally, and I haven't heard of anything similar with other people.
Has anything changed in what you've been eating? Have you varied your meals? Water intake still good? Measuring A & B choices?
I know these may seem like ridiculous questions, and I don't mean to sound 'condescending' but I know how easy it is to slip with something without realising. I've seen it with so many people over the years at group, and I did it myself.
I know it becomes a struggle when you get so close to target, I've been there myself.

What food plan are you on?

Are you constipated (possible side effect)?

How much water do you drink a day?

Thanks for your replies.

I am on slimming world EE and am getting close to target.

I drink about 1.5l per day - I have squash (no added sugar), as I can't stand plain water. I also have black tea, herbal tea or coffee very occasionally.

Yes I do get constipated and don't "go" every day. I try eating scan bran (when I can get it from group) and taking Senakot at night if it's really bad.

I do moderate exercise (walking) and I do try to vary my meals, but do struggle with breakfast due to lack of time in the morning.

You suffered constipation prior to these tablets? If so is it the same or worse?

Yes I did and yes, I would say it has got worse.

I also noticed that my Wee was sometimes going a luminous yellow colour.

I have just finished a months box of tablets and I am not going to take any more at the moment to see if it makes a difference.

Above is screenshot of my weight log (I attend group but fill this in as well), so you can my weight fluctuate and last WI I gain 2lbs.

ETA:- I can't post the picture just yet,as I've not made 10 posts, but will do that in a post below.

The luminous yellow pee is perfectly normal after having vitamin B.
You might find Scan Bran a bit too fibrous and possibly binding. I would definitely increase your fluid intake as 1.5l is pretty much bare minimum. Any laxatives will also require extra fluids in order to work properly. The best thing I've found is a daily apple.

I was just thinking the iron makes me constipated - constipation causes water retention.

Boots iron tablets are 14g of iron
Well woman original vit supplements are 12g iron

The other vitamins I would say no to but I personally think the iron in these tablets (assuming I have right ones) could be a cause ... I do agree with Ali to try and increase your water in take x

I am facing a similar situation and I think they do help gain weight. I would possibly need to consult my physician to get a precise answer. I used to weigh less when I wasn't taking them.
