Of course you're welcome PurpleJ! Sounds like you've had a horrific time. I agree in that I think university stress can be a trigger, especially if you're a perfectionist like me 😳
You work similar to me in doing lates to allow sleeping-in and only one shift at a time. Hope next week is manageable for you. X

Firstly....Yay, for the size 12 jeans Ali!

It does sound sound like the start of a flare up, hope it doesn't come to anything.

Hey PurpleJ, of course you're welcome to join the thread. As AliCat said, you really have had an horrific time of it. Glad to here that you are stabilised at the moment and you have the support of your husband, I'm sure that must make all the difference.

I actually didn't go to university, however I am 22 so at that sort of age if you were going straight from college/sixth form. I've had some extremely stressful jobs over the past couple of years, which is possibly a trigger. Particularly towards the end of last year when I was absolutely dreading coming into work on a Monday morning, and worrying all weekend about work. I'm luckily out of that job and loving where I am now. But I've only really started to suffer quite significantly over the last few months, so I bet that was what's caused it to flare up!

Welcome PurpleJ!

Daniellejwx I seem to find it worst straight after the stress - so the stress is mostly over but your body is now feeling the after affects!

I think the tiredness is the hardest part really, it can be so debilitating!

Stress really is a trigger for many people. Glad to hear that you are now in a job you love Danielle.

For once I think the CFS syptoms actually helped my weight loss. I had an IBS flare up and spent most of the night running back and forth to the toilet. I weighed in today and had lost 5.5 lbs.

Well I'm the opposite because I've got IBS type C and feeling very sluggish and bloated. Even my legs feel swollen today. I'm really not holding out much hope for WI on Wednesday.
I agree with you HW, I find the fatigue most debilitating. I can take meds for the pain and that allows me to do a few things I want. But there's no tablet for the tiredness and it stops me from living my life. Urgh 😣
As you can tell, I'm feeling a bit low at the moment. I'm sure it'll pass. X

If I have to accept the weight when I'm bloated then I'm going to take the benefit of having the runs the night before weigh in.

I'll probably be constipated next week anyway and end up putting on weight.

Unfortunately I go between having diarrhoea and being constipated. Have to admit that out of the two I'd much rather have the runs. At least with that you get some...erm...relief from the cramps, for a little while at least. Whereas with constipation the cramping is awful with no relief at all, and the bloating is horrible.

I agree with both HW and AliCat that the fatigue is definitely the worst part of this illness, there is no medication that helps and it can be completely debilitating.

So sorry that you've been feeling so awful AliCat. Hope that you felt at least a little better today. xx

I have to say, since I started on the Feroglobin, my fatigue is decidedly better. I haven't had an afternoon nap for days now. I've also cut down on my laxatives as I was still taking the same dose as before my diet when fruit/veg intake was a lot less. Last week my tummy just felt sore, it was like a lightbulb moment, and I wondered whether I wasn't getting enough nutrients if my food was going through me too quick. Sorry if TMI. But anyway, apart from a bad back and normal fibro pains, I feel decidedly chipper
