I can get really bad with certain sounds, I can stand to hear people hoovering or the clattering of pots and pans! I can get sensitive to light and it triggers migraines! I am really over sensitive to smell, to the point of being sick if I smell unpleasant or strong smells.

My work is always warm, dry air and stuffy - awful on a bad fibro day

I was more sensitive to light a few years ago, not so much now. But I can't do noise. Crowded rooms with people talking make me feel so ill. And my neighbour likes to use power tools a lot, which is horrendous. Sometimes I can't even tolerate my favourite music. It makes me feel old before my time.
I've been so tired at work today I had to have a strong coffee before I could do the medication round as I could have slept standing up and didn't want to make any mistakes. I've decided to start taking my iron tablets again as I can't be bothered to go for a blood test and I'll know soon enough whether it's anaemia again. x

HW I know what you mean about smells. I took my daughter shopping and she was trying the perfumes in Next. I thought I was going to throw up in the store!

Great to know that there are other people on the forum who also have ME/CFS and fibromyalgia and trying to lose weight.

I've had CFS/Fibro since my early 20's, and am now 38. I'm constantly exhausted and the pain means I only sleep a few hours at a time. It also means that I have to live with my mum, which isn't great at my age. I take diclofenac and tramadol for those as well as various others for IBS, migraines, excess stomach acid and depression. Yup, i'm falling apart. Lol.

I'm also really sensitive to loud noises and strong smells, perfumes and essential oils are my worst nightmare, lavender especially makes me ill.

Nice to hear from you thistle.
For at least a year I kept blaming my weight gain on the fibro... I can't exercise, I take too many pills etc... I was overeating, plain and simple. But it goes to show that we can lose weight with this awful illness. Especially with good support like I'm finding here :-)

So tired and fed up. Had a blinding headache all morning. Had to walk the dog in the rain. Tried to put my TENS on the back of my neck in the area for a migraine but the pads wouldn't stick as I was sweating so much. Work was OK apart from the pain in my shoulders and I've had to take my maximum painkillers today. Think I'm due on as I've had such bloating and I'm just so hot and sweaty. And basically, I'm so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open. Wish I could spend the day in bed tomorrow but it's not going to happen. Hope you're all feeling better xx

I had a pounding headache throughout the night last night and knew I'd be suffering today - and I am taken Anadin extra but it's done nothing as usual. I don't think this close weather at the moment helps either.

Hope you're feeling better today xx

Oh no, poor you. Sounds like you are having an awful time of it at the moment.

I'm not feeling great either. I'm exhausted and aching after going to the slimming club yesterday. I've also now got painful period cramps, which will probably start of my IBS and make me sick. Most likely I'll be spending later this afternoon sitting on the toilet with a bucket on my lap (sorry, tmi), oh the joys....

At the moment I'm lying in my bed with my 2 dogs snuggled up against me. Thank goodness I don't have work to go to, I don't know how you manage it.

I tried a TENS machine years ago, but didn't like the sensation of it. A lot of people swear by them for pain relief, maybe I should give one a go again.

I take Pizotifen daily to help prevent migraines. I still do get them but they don't last for days anymore and nowhere near as painful as before. Migraleve actually helps now, whereas it didn't before.

Hope you feel better soon AliCat.

xx

Thanks ladies. I'm a bit better today. Time of the month is upon me and therefore my IBS is flaring too thistle. Luckily I only work 2 shifts a week and not in again til Thursday. I was busy this morning but have spent all afternoon on the sofa catching up with tv. Take care all xx

What a shame! Seems like everyone has been having a horrendous time.

I guess we have to be as kind to ourselves as possible. I hope you all feel better soon, and rest up as much as possible. I am glad you aren't working that much this week!
