Sit-up Calories

Does anyone know the average amount of calories burned during a sit-up? Does this vary between the types of sit-up's out there? I tend to stick with V-up's (Jack Knife Sit Up's).

I'm pretty sure sit-ups aren't really about burning calories. You'd probably obout burn 25-30 calories on 50 sit ups. great for the tummy/stomach area but there are better less strenuous exercises that burn more in less time.

I found a Livestrong article that said a 150 pound person will burn 91 calories during 10 minutes of calisthenics. Obviously the amount burned depends on the person's weight, exactly what they are doing, and the intensity level.

Even when you sleep you burn calories so to say that a sit-up can not burn any seems silly. I have read a few of the guesstimates online and they always have something different. I am looking to get some type of real (logical) rough estimate. That might work, I am a little less than 150 but it is a good starting ground, thanks!

I found this:

1
Determine the number of sit-ups you can perform in 1 minute. Follow the pace of your normal workout.

2
Calculate the number of calories you burn per minute performing sit-ups. As a baseline, a 100-pound individual burns 6 calories per minute doing sit-ups. For every 10 pounds more you weigh, add 1 calorie per minute. For example, a 110-pound individual burns 7 calories per minute, a 120-pound individual burns 8 calories per minute, and so on.

3
Divide the number of calories you burn per minute of sit-ups by the number of sit-ups you can perform in 1 minute. This is the number of calories you burn per sit-up. For example, here is the calculation for a 120-pound individual: 8 calories per minute / 30 sit-ups per minute = 0.27 calories per sit-up.
