Bedtime Hunger: what to do about it?

I sometimes have a day when I have eaten carefully and I'm feeling good about it. Then suddenly at bedtime I'll be struck with real hunger and a growling stomach. I know it's bad to eat right before going to sleep.

Do you have this issue, and have you found a good solution?

I ended up eating a chocolate cupcake at bedtime the other day cos I just couldn't ignore it otherwise I tend to have a pint of water and hope that fills me up!

When I am really hungry like that at bedtime and it cannot be ignored, I will usually have a piece of toast with some sugar-free jelly or a couple Lorna Doones with some milk.

Thanks for the ideas. Peppermint tea sounds like it would be soothing and filling. Toast would be nice at bedtime. I wouldn't feel too guilty about eating it, especially if I dunked it in a little olive oil rather than using a spread.
