Well, if you eat any food before you try to sleep then you'll have some wild dreams and a restless night. How about chewing some gum? I know it has aspartame which is disgusting but if you can't get beyond that ingredient it might be worth the try. Or how about some crackers? I would avoid any liquids as you might have to wake up and use the bathroom.

I was told by a dietician that it's a complete myth that you shouldn't eat at night! Toast in olive oil sounds amazing, why have I never thought of that?!

Aren't you afraid of having a poor night's sleep? I never sleep well if I eat or dink anything within an hour or two of bed time. Don't you have wild dreams when you eat that late?

As a kid I was told cheese before bed gave you a bad sleep and dreams lol I would imagine everyone is different on the nighttime food ... I generally feel crap if I have a really late dinner then go to bed before settling!

Oh Wobbles, that brings back memories. I used to travel on business, and I'd have to eat a big dinner with colleagues really late. I'd stumble back to the hotel room, exhausted and overly full at 10:30 PM. I'd fall asleep, but what a terrible routine that was, and bad for weight control, for sure!

It is the worst thing you can do for your body. When you lie down after a meal you don't digest your food properly. Also, eating that late makes you not hungry for breakfast when you wake up. You want to start every single day with at least a small breakfast!

I've never once went to bed full and woke up 7 hours later still full. The body does it's thing whether you're awake or asleep. Laying down soon after eating is bad if you suffer from acid reflux and heartburn though.

A big meal will usually wipe me out and make me feel like I need a nap, but I never noticed any dreams from it. No more or less than what I usually have.

That is remarkable. We are complete opposites. If I eat a bunch of food before going to sleep I won't be hungry for anything until the next afternoon. I have the craziest dreams when I try to sleep on a full stomach.
