HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT imo

Not sure if these work but they worked for me and hope they help others:

- cut meat out in most meals (try to have at least 4 days a week meat free. Why? Wasted calories imo)
- up your veg intake. Not only good for you but you fill you up on very low calories
- VERY IMPORTANT. cut bread, pasta, rice, spuds from your diet believe me, cut them out and you will not feel bloated straight away.
-drink lots of water. at least 8 glasses a day
- keep a diary. buy a notebook and faithfully write down all you eat and drink each day
- get addicted to green tea. you think you don't like it? try it. you will get addicted.
- if you have a lot of weight to lose make sure you eat foods that help you not end up with swathes of spare skin
- only weigh in once a week
- join a group. the support is great

I can add more later but hope those tips help x

Great tips Daisy

I have to admit though, although I can go without meat a day or so a week, I couldn't cut out pasta/rice/potatoes completely. I get bored without them added to a meal a few times a week, mostly pasta or rice. Potatoes I only really eat once a week anyway, at the very most!

It is odd in the beginning not having rice/pasta as part of a meal but you do get used to it Sarah. And I truly believe cutting them (and bread) out of my diet (mostly although I do enjoy a risotto now and then) has given me slimmer hips than I have ever had. Even back in the day when I wore size 8 jeans it was an effort to get them on (you know, lying on the bed metal hanger in hand?) but now I can slip them on and wear them with comfort as opposed to squashed feeling. And back then I was actually a stone lighter than I am now and I can only put it down to not eating pasta, rice and bread. :-)

I'm finding it hard to imagine what a meal would be without meat and rice, pasta or potatoes? Is it possible for you to just say what you would have in a day? Thank you and well done on your achievement, you sound like you have great will power! I need will power like you!

These are really great tips and I know many people who are aversive to meat will appreciate. Also, people who love carbs and can’t imagine living without them will benefit as well. Well, that’s pretty much everyone… For me, this way of eating is the ONLY way I have been able to get good, consistent blood sugar control, and yes like you suggested, feeling less bloated. I guess people should start small by eliminating the white carbs and sugar slowly. All the best, people

Really great tips! But I think everyone who is making efforts to lose weight, should understand the importance of weight loss trackers – the perfect way to monitor your progress. This can motivate a lot

Great tips but since I dropped 23 pounds quickly with low carb diets I think meat doesn't hurt.

When I cut the carbs I lose weight. Since I'm a human being I reckon this works the same for everyone so nr. 3 is the killer tip here.
