Gluten-free craze
Seems like everyone is into the gluten-free foods craze. I heard a friend talking about gluten-free chocolate the other day. The first thing I thought was "that's ridiculous!". She's not even gluten intolerant.
This is all GREAT for people with Celiac, or an actual allergy, but other than that I think these companies are making a fortune selling people stuff that is already gluten-free and inflating the price to put it on the label. I saw some crispy rice cereal with the claim that it's gluten-free. Of course it is! It's rice!

There are very few people who actually should avoid gluten, but the marketing hype has made a lot of people think that gluten is bad for you. It's another silly fad, really, but many buy into it in an effort to explain away their own health issues that are mainly caused by terrible diet and lack of exercise.

I think a lot more people are getting gluten intollerances tbh, my mum's eaten it with no problems for years, but in the last 12m has had real problems with White bread! I don't know if they're putting something different in it now.
The gluten free stuff is minging though, one of the girls friends has a gluten intolerance and they took one bite of her birthday cake and refused to eat any more

I try and avoid white bread mostly because of the speed at which it turns to glucose in the body. Maybe this has something to do with why people are having so many issues with it.
I haven't tried the gluten-free breads yet. That good, aye?

You do hear a lot more people saying they are gluten free. I agree that white carbs are portrayed as totally bad for u, like spuds, pasta etc but it is still about moderation!
Although i.do think i have some sort of disagreement with them, they cause me stomach ache and teeeerrrribbbllee wind

I think, too, that mainly it's the amount of gluten that people have been eating lately that has tipped them over the edge into it irritating their bowels. Reading food labels, you see they are sneaking it into everything as a filler.
