Feeling disheartened by halfway weight.

New to the forum so first off, hi all.
I started dieting at the end of December and started off at 215lbs after weighing myself today I'm down to 173lbs and was feeling pretty pleased until I bought some shorts for a holiday and tried them on and before when I was larger I just had squishy thighs that were the same size all the way round, but now the fat has started coming off at the front but I have a lot of fat still at the back of my thighs and I burst out crying because I just feel like it looks horrible
Does anyone else have these moments where they see their halfway weight loss and feel disheartened by it?
Also if you do, how do you motivate yourself and feel good about yourself again?

Oh bless you, you've had a super loss and should be proud! Keep going. Look at where you've got so far and keep imagining that end result. Maybe have a look for some exercises that target the problem areas

Oh what a shame, please cheer up.
Can you take the shorts back? - do get rid of them if you can.
Some clothes just don't suit us individually and we can't change that - so you carry a bit of weight at the back of your thighs, so what ..... don't worry - if you can't change things you just have to live with them. Sorry if that sounds brutal but its a fact of life, like the colour of your eyes.
I have a double (quadruple) chin, but looking back at old school photos when I wasn't overweight I see it was something I'd had from birth. I hate it and I doubt it'll go even if I lose weight, so its one of those things that'll have to be accepted.
Smile!
ps I've just looked in the mirror - the backs of my thighs are covered with cellulite (agh) so no shorts for me either.

I have huge thighs. But it's genetic, from my mum, bless her. So I struggle getting jeans to fit and look revolting in anything shorter than knee length!

You are doing fantastically ellierose!

As someone else said, lose the shorts. If they distress you they are not for you.

For me, I started off at 235 lbs (MASSIVE for my 5 foot one inch height) and lost just under 50% of my body weight (114 lbs). Shorts are out for me coz of a bit of wrinkly skin. Meh. BUT I can now wear size (UK) 8 jeans and even size 6 sometimes. So take the good and run with it and forget the bad.

As for motivation, believe me, it feels SO bloody fabulous when you get to your perfect weight you won't believe it so keep going. You CAN do it!

Massive well done for your lose so far.

Thighs ... my biggest issue. Through all my weight loss and drops in clothes my thigh measurements went down the least and what I did lose was veryyyy slowly. No shape and cellulite, I've just had to accept it.

Things is we see it more than anyone else and most people have a hangup, I think this one is quite common for women. We are all portioned out differently at the end of the day.

Don't just let one factor get you down think of the bigger picture.
