low syn/free foods

Hi guys,

I've been eating a lot of fruit, 0% fat activia yoghurts and mugshots when I get really hungry and its in-between meals.
Does anyone have any tips/advise on any other foods that I could try?

I go to the gym most days after work and my energy levels are low so I need something before I hit the weights and cardio. (I do an hour lifting weights and 30 minutes cardio).

Thanks!

I was informed the other day that carbs are the best thing to have before going to the gym. At least a banana if not something else (maybe a pasta salad or something?) becuase it helps with your energy levels whilst working out.

For snacky things, what about hummous and crudites? Or something protein based to keep you fuller longer? There's a new yogurt out - Arla Protein - that is apparently really filling and very tasty. There are lots of people in my group that rave about them. One of those with some berries would get your speed food in too, and should help fill you up.
Personally, I only snack on fruit and hifi bars, but I enjoy them and they're enough for me so I'm happy as I am

Your syn free foods on SW are your fresh and frozen fruit & veg, meats, pastas, rice, potatoes, fish, certain yogurts, most diet drinks, and some branded items.
Cheese triangles aren't syn free, but they can be classed as your Healthy Extra A choice (dairy)
You also get a Healthy Extra B choice (fibre)
Both healthy extra choices are measured amounts and you get one of each per day. As they are measured, once you've consumed the measured amount, you are meant to syn any further items.

It's very straight forward once you get your head around it, but it can take a ocuple of weeks to adjust to it, like any change in plan though!

Thanks everyone.

Sarah, I know what you are saying but I just wanted to know if anyone had any new finds or anything not mentioned in the SW books as it can get a bit boring just having the same thing and sometimes nice to have something convenient as I work 8-4, then study, then gym and home around 8.30/9.

Thanks
