opinions on wearing bikini while overweight?
Wondering how you would feel if you seen an overweight girl (me ) wearing a bikini of some sort on holiday? Is it a no go or each to their own?
We booked our hol in Portugal for September and i'm hoping i will have lost more weight by then, so thinking i might buy a flattering bikini. I'm not all that confident anyway but really wanna get more sun while I'm away. Would u think anything of it? Honest answers appreciated please so i dont make a fool of myself

I wouldn't think anything of it. When I was in Lanzarote I saw all different shapes and sizes wearing bikinis. I think anything goes when you're on holiday to be honest!

To each their own it honestly didn't bother me whilst I was away, I think if you've got the confidence then do it! I had major deliberations over wearing a bikini cos my tummy's a total wreck and covered in stretch marks, but I actually felt better the days I wore one rather than a swimming costume! It's only in the UK we have big issues with it, abroad the locals just let it all hang out

Suppose it depends how over-weight! Me at 17st would be a definite NO NO!
But aslong as youre happy and want to wear one then go for it!

I've worn a bikini while overweight before. I was less overweight than I am now so I felt more confident. I carry most of my weight in my thighs anyway, so I don't look much worse in a bikini than I do in a tank.

i carry a lot on my thighs too so they're on show anyway in a tankini! The only thing i was worried about is my stomach but i know i"m losing weight off it so it might be better by the time ee go away! I'll have to just keep tellin myself that nobody knoes me haha!

The thing to think is, you'll never see the people again, most of them will be feeling self conscious too and tbh, everyones that busy enjoying their holiday, they're unlikely to give you a second glance'
