Broccoli (once every 3 days)
Carrots (2 times a week, mostly raw)
Fish (he does not like fish, but fish is very good for diabetics)
Fenugreek soaked water (every morning)
Apple (2 times a week)
Nuts
Oatmeal (1 bowl every morning)
Spinach (once a week)
Soy (once a week)
Black Tea (everyday)

I read a lot about going gluten free being very beneficial to diabetics, might be something to look at.

I'm a diabetic, but so far everything is being well maintained with medication. I would love to get off of these drugs and do it with diet alone.

I try to avoid all starches like pasta, bread, rice, potatoes. I also have to avoid eating too much fruit.

I try to eat a healthy diet of vegetables and lean meats. It's hard to keep to a good diet with the high food costs these days.

I'm hypoglycemic, but the same diet applies for diabetics, for the most part. Focus on high-protein and low-carbs. When eating carbs, go for the dense, whole-grain products so they stick with you. Protein helps maintain a stable blood sugar level so eat a quality protein source with each meal. Also, you must eat at least 6 times per day - roughly every two hours. Obviously, these will be small meals/snacks.

I am not diabetic but I have a few friends that are, most have weight issues and say it is incredibility hard to try and maintain any normal weight range. I caught a picture of a guy online last week that had the hastag of something like "diabeticsrage". He had a six pack so I just do not get it, it goes against everything I have heard about someone who is diabetic.
