I'm never eager when I wake up, either. Consuming breakfast is extremely troublesome for me. The most I can oversee when I first wake up is a glass of yogurt!

I don't think it is wise to "force" yourself to eat......

I absolutely agree, if your body is not giving the hunger signals, why eat at that time. I'm not 100% sure but I reckon the reason for the lack of hunger in the morning is something to do with the appetite suppressing hormones that are produced in your sleep that are not fully worn off when you wake up. I notice it even more when I wake up too early and haven't had enough sleep.

The best FIRST thing to do after you wake up is to drink a glass of water (room temperature). I personally drink one huge glass of water, then take a shower and drink another one. It kick starts all the processes, wakes me up and makes me feel fresh and alive. It may help you to want eating after that as well.

In any case, if you still will not be hungry after that, don't worry about it. It's more important how many calories you consume within 24 hours or a week, than when exactly you are eating. The worst thing to do is to force yourself to eat when you don't want to.

There are very few days that I wake up hungry either and I have been guilty of skipping breakfast here and there. I don't think that it is necessarily a bad thing to skip breakfast, although when I do, I feel like I am more prone to overindulge for the rest of the day. Maybe just try and eat something small like a piece of fruit or a breakfast bar.

Yes, it is that bad. Until you eat, or 'break your fast', your metabolism stays in rest mode. That means that it is not burning the calories you should. You may not wake up hungry now but if you make yourself eat something small, such as a piece of toast, after a week or two, you will wake up hungrier.

I never want breakfast until I have had my cup or two of coffee. I know if I put off eating for too long, then I end up really hungry and overeat when I do decide to eat. It's better to eat before it gets to that point.

I don't eat breakfast as soon as I wake up, but I do have something to eat 3 or 4 hours after that. Sometimes my breakfast is my lunch. I am not sure why people are so crazy about missing breakfast. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.

I don't usually have time for breakfast. But somehow I always manage to make up for it on other meals

I reckon the key is only eating when you're actually hungry and stopping when your full. My problem is I know I'm not hungry but I'm so conditioned to eat breakfast in the mornings that its a habit I now need to try and break. It's very challenging but ultimately you only ever eat for 3 reasons...1) Genuine Hunger 2) Dehydration (almost identical symptoms) 3) to change your emotional state. I comfort eat a lot Getting there now though =D
