Husband is TOO "supportive"
I adore my hubby, and he and I lost a bunch of weight together years ago. But now, I have gained a bit of it back, just enough to bother me (about 12 pounds). The thing is that he tells me that I look fine and not to worry about losing what I've gained. I know he is just being supportive and there are lots of worse ways for a partner to be. But it just isn't helping me to get motivated!

Aww bless him! He sounds lovely and he really loves you the way you are
I know how frustrating it can be though as you want him to give you some motivation!
My husband was the same until I finally got it out of him a few years ago that he thought my stomach had really grown and he worried that I was eating too many crisps. That was the push I needed and I'm glad I forced it out of him as I started dieting the very left day and actually stuck to it!

My daughter is always complaining about her weight and wanting/ needing to lose a few pounds and her hubbie always tells her she's gorgeous just the way she is. I think this kind of "support" is absolutely beautiful, Justine. Sounds like you've got a pretty good marriage to me.

Well, you should feel blessed because some wives feel ostracized by their husbands when they gain some weight back. If you don't like how supportive he is, try talking to him and tell him it's okay if he thinks that the weight gain is not okay.

Fresh story about husband's support!! My friend bought herself new sexy lingerie. She wore it and showed to her husband: Do you like it honey?;-)) His answer was brilliant!!! My friend cried for an hour. So he said: Hmmm..nice lingerie...But when you say you are planning to go to the gym with Julia? (Julia is me;-)) I was in shock when i heard this story. I think your husband is wonderful Justine!

That sounds like my guy too, when I have my fat moments he just tells me that I am too well hydrated! Ginger if my husband told me that he would realize he is out sleeping in the dog house, wow!

It's a lovely thing to say but 12lbs when someone see's you every day he probably doesn't see what you are and certainly doesn't feel how you're feeling and what body goals you want to achieve

I know just what you mean. My husband says he would find me attractive if I were as big as a house. That's nice, but I need to lose weight!
