Diets and balance

I was listening to a radio show this morning talking about all types of diets, both the ones that work and the fads. They brought up the wrist band that helps with balance and how it is targeted to people who want to also lose weight. How does this actually help, anyone know?

Interesting. I have no idea how that would work. Are they the same wristbands that help with motion sickness too? I think those bands help with a lot of things but I don't see how they would help with dieting.

I'm not familiar with a wrist band that helps you lose weight, but a friend of mine did tell me about some new "patch" that's supposed to help. She said some friend of hers wore a patch a day for 2 or 3 months and lose 60 pounds. I'm still skeptical.

I've heard of these wrist bands and they are supposed to provide a balance to your body. i really don't understand how it actually works other than it emits some kind of signal that is supposed to help balance or stimulate meridians (energy channels) in your body.

The only bands I know of are those for fitness, like the Fitbit that I tried out for a week. There are many companies out there trying to raise funds for their products that are still stuck in a development/patent stage. I am still hunting for the band myself, I tried to contact the radio station through their Facebook page but so far no one has answered my inquiry.

I have heard of the slimming patches (the shop I work at stocks them), they are supposed to "transdermally" transfer the ingredients (usually thermogenics, sometimes appetite suppressants) to aid weight-loss, and they tend to get into the system quicker than tablets. I haven't tried them, but I do know a couple of customers that swear by them.

I haven't hear about the links between these bracelets and slimming though? I will have to look into that

I've never been tempted to look into things like this let alone buy.

What are the patches your shop sells Kiwi?

I take it it's not an electronic band. I know of the Jawbone UP but it doesn't do balance, it's just a tracker. Guess you mean like a yin yang thing

They're called Trim24 patches, I'll upload a pic with the info on the back. I've never tried them but the other day a girl come in asking for them saying she'd tried them a while back and they worked, so they must do something!

It lists the ingredients on the back:

Fucus vesiculosis - fancy name for kelp, which regulates your metabolism, gets rid of excess water and prevents cholesterol accumulating.

5HTP - appetite suppressant, is supposed to prevent carb cravings, but also increases serotonin which is your "feel good" hormone.

Guarana & Yerbamate - both stimulants to increase metabolism.

L-carnitine - burns fat to use as energy, breaks down carbs, can prevent lactic acid buildup

Flaxseed oil - rich in omega 3, which l-carnitine needs to be properly utilised.

Lecithin - binds to fat, breaks it up and passes through your water.

Zinc - I assume it's in there for the antioxidant purposes, helps with vitamin absorption.

Sorry for the dump of info

Holy moly, I haven't yet heard of these. I wonder if they actually work or not. I used a patch when I quit smoking and the convenience was terrific! I'super tempted to look into these more, thanks for the information Kiwi!!
