How I know I'm losing weight
I try not to step on the scale too often and the reason for this is that I find I'm more motivated to lose weight when I'm not checking it. I can usually tell I'm losing weight by my belt. If I can move to the next notch I've lost a few pounds! How often do you weigh yourself?

At one point, I would weigh myself daily -- even though I know better! Now I weigh much more sporadically. I think it's been two or three weeks since the last time I weighed. Like you, I find that I do better if I don't know how much progress I'm making. When I see those numbers going down, I tend to slack off when I shouldn't.

I go thru phases, if I'm in maintain, I'll just go off how my clothes feel and weigh every few weeks, but when I'm dieting, like now, I'll weigh every morning

One of, if not the best way, it to take body measurements once a week, and hit the scales once a week too, but be informed by what the tape says.
I do 9 locations for measuring. If anyone would like it, I can post a spreadsheet and measuring guide for people to use. The inches are what matters the most IMHO

I weigh myself once a week and I measure myself once a month (I also take a front and side picture once a month). I measure chest, waist, hips, arms (fattest bit lol), thighs and calves. I really cannot tell a massive difference yet in my appearance but 16 inches have gone from all over the shop So it's really nice to know. Plus my poor trousers are getting a break from being at breaking point!

I weigh myself once a week, but I need to remember to measure myself too. I haven't done that in ages and I know it's often the case that you can lose inches but not weight.

I weigh myself at the start of the week, that way I KNOW if what I did the previous week worked for me or not. If I didn't reach my goals I know exactly how to fix this. It's actually a good idea, you should definitely try it.

I stepped on those scales every single day back at the beginning... when my trainer took them from me it was tougher than I though, it was an addiction!
I haven't stood on the scales for a couple of months. Last time was because I checked my stats at the gym and it's required.
I might bring them out again atm but only because I know my relationship with them will be a lot healthier.
