- Can you describe what your life was like being overweight, before you decided to lose weight?
- What was the turning point for you that made you decide to lose weight?
I had a bad spell of depression the last year and a half before starting my diet and I put on weight a lot of things negative had changed about me and I needed to change them back:
Confidence got lower
Anxiety higher
Moody
Lack of patience
Lack of energy
Struggling to get up and wake up in the morning
^ All of the above changed.
- What were the greatest challenges you had when trying to lose weight?
Hitting weight loss plateaus
Starting to exercise, it wasn't easy to get going but once I was there I was always determined to better myself (time, distance, etc).
Reducing the carbs on my plate/served up
Replacing the wardrobe every jean size down (4 in total)
- If you were successful at losing weight, how did you do it?
Slimming World changed a lot about my eating habits before I went it alone (calorie counting):
Lurpak lightest
Less bread
Less coffees
Less sugar
Limited 'treats' because you just hated syning them
Fry light instead of olive oil
More water
Green tea
The biggest change was 3 meals a day instead of quick crap/snack food in the day and one greedy loaded plate for dinner
.... Will mention when I started to exercise I soon found out the tape measure was as important if not more important than the scales. I nearly got disheartened by the scales until I realised my inches were coming off. At 10 stone 8lbs I'm at a size 10. Everyone is shaped differently but most I know are much lighter on the scales yet in the same size.
