Water is only one part, fiber is the kicker there. I had to talk to my doctor about this same issue and he said taking a fiber supplement is fine but you want to make sure you are getting something with only "Docusate Sodium". When you buy stuff with all of the other ingredients in it then it turns into a waste of money since you don't need the other stuff to get things going.
