Coffee and Appetite
How many of you find that drinking coffee affects your appetite? And does it make you more, or less hungry than you would have been if you had not drank that cup of java?

I drink coffee all day long, not as bad now it was once one after the other but I do prefer a coffee over breakfast, I found getting into routine of eating breakfast quite tough and still known to skip this meal of the day which is bad. Never really thought about it suppressing my appetite although I knew caffeine tablets can #doh
I'm afraid I couldn't live without coffee.

I agree with you that drinking coffee does affect my appetite. I don't know, sometimes it makes me hungry, and other times when I drink espresso, it suppresses my hunger. It's a little of both for me to be honest. Is that weird?

I found that it made me feel a little bit sick at first so I found that it probably did reduce my appetite. I used to be such an addict and would make a double espresso first thing every morning, but I've been caffeine free for a few weeks now as it was giving me terrible insomnia

I eat more when I have coffee. I've gone from being a 10 cups a day girl before Christmas to 2-3 a day. I find I tend to like something to eat "with" my coffee and it isn't usually something healthy. Lets face it, an apple with your coffee isn't quite the same!!

I find that I actually need to eat with my coffee, because otherwise the caffeine gives me the shakes. It's not pleasant at all, and so I have to have some nice, complex carbs to give me a sustained energy release.

I find eating with my coffee makes me feel sick for some reason, but I did have very strong coffees so that was probably why!

I start out my morning with coffee and I don't even think about wanting anything for breakfast until later. I'd say coffee suppresses my appetite. Most of the so-called diet pills that are sold use caffeine as an appetite suppressant.

it definitely surpresses my appetite. It's not been unknown for me to power through days on coffee and cigarettes so I eat smaller meals and don't snack as much although I don't do that very often now!

Actually, just drinking coffee for my breakfast can fill me up. I don't like to drink it a lot though because I don't like to drink a lot of caffeine. It makes me shaky.
