Fat shaming

It's despicable that people are shamed and treated like they have no value if they gain weight. It's especially bad when the targets are women that have recently had babies. Discriminating against overweight people seems to be the last acceptable form of open prejudice and the media doesn't miss many chances. Alyssa Milano spoke out about it recently.

If we are going to continue to allow people to do this I think we need to bring back "tar & feathering". Really thought it is sad that this is now the world we live in. Yes freedom of speech is all over the place but people still need to learn to bite their tongue.

Do no harm, it is very simple.

It's really a sign of the times, isn't it? People always need to bully others that seem to be a little different. Some people automatically assume that because someone is overweight that they are lazy or stupid. We need to stop judging on appearances. Who knows if the overweight person we see at the mall has a medical condition?

People can be very cruel. The media and just people in general are so focused on looks nowadays. It is sickening and obviously not right.

You are absolutely right about this! I get really irritated when I see people following gossip magazines, websites, like it is detrimental to their existence! This is what we have turned into now, a celebrity culture.
