Regaining control after a lapse

If I'm honest I totally failed over Christmas. I expected to have a little blow out on Christmas day and maybe a few little treats on boxing day, but a week on I feel a bit shit. Not just because of I've put on about 5/6lbs [not even joking] but my body feels crap too and I've got stuck in a bit of a junk rut.

Really need to get back on it. Someone give me a boot up the backside!

You're halfway there when its making you feel bad. Set a day and stick to it. Drink double the water you normally would for a few days to flush all the bad out and just suck it up that you'll feel cravings for a few days If you want the end result....it is worth it, I promise

I agree with mamafy! I usually find it quite easy to get back on it in Jan, but I think this year's going to be a bit more of a struggle! I'm going to make a conscious effort to drink more water and keep busy so I don't thunk ad much about food! I've really let things go over Xmas - last night I had a pizza followed by a maccy Ds that was hangover cure though, so obviously essential

I did really bad over the holidays, too. I gained even more than you did (about 7.5 pounds, ugh) and now my pants don't fit right. I can't believe I did so terribly! It's really making me rethink how we handle holidays around here. Nothing will serve as a better boot in your butt, though, than how you feel. If you're feeling bad, that's your motivation right there!

I agree with everyone else. If you are already feeling bad and guilty about it you can change it. Use that guilt to get back on the healthy food wagon. I did not eat all that great but I did not gain that much back. I was feeling guilty during the holidays so that helped to curb some of my eating.
