Running out of foods I can eat

Meat is supposed to be bad for us. Luckily, my cholesterol level is good. I want to keep it that way. I stick to chicken mostly. I have to watch my intake of carbs because of my blood sugar levels. Vegetables are priced out of this world and I can barely afford them at this rate. So... what's left?

How limited on carbs?

I am getting to a bored stage for 2 reasons
1) I like quick an easy most nights
2) Like you say healthier eating is fairly £

Frozen veg is always cheaper and less waste though, I buy frozen veg a lot but it's the salad that takes my pennies.

Lean mince with homemade spag sauce
Lean gammon with steam veg, egg and SW chips

To be fair I seem to make the same things

Recently been eating more stirfrys. In Sainburys I get the £3 offer which is the veg, noodle (option to have rice noodles) and the sauce - I always have chicken in the freezer to go with!

Chicken and turkey are good meats as they're very lean.

Frozen veg is a lot cheaper than fresh. I know what you mean about the price of veg, it's extortionate.

Do you like legumes? Things such as kidney beans, lentils and chickpeas are low in price and calories.

Copy that, if you haven't noticed the preservation of frozen vegetables has greatly increased over the last few years. We made our green bean casserole with frozen green beans this year and they were almost too fresh!

You can also find a food coop nearby where you can get fresh fruits and vegetables much cheaper than a grocery store.

I mainly buy frozen veg, because I get more from it and it lasts longer' I eat a lot of tinned beans in things too and they're really cheap. I find vegan meals are usually really interesting and full of goodness, things that you just wouldn't think of putting together! And you can always add non vegan stuff to the meals too, but the base meals tend to be really good.
