Lunch or Dinner

When is the best time to eat your heaviest meal? For me it has always been dinner. However, it's not good for you if you eat late and then go to bed. My job won't allow a large meal at noon. What's a body to do?

They say the best time to eat your heaviest meal is breakfast, but I just can't eat that much in the morning, and most people aren't getting up at the crack of dawn to do farm work these days.

Lunch should probably be the largest meal of the day and then a smaller meal in the evening. I really should start doing that. I eat heavier in the evening when I won't be burning up a lot of calories.

The saying goes breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper - I do the complete opposite I don't have time or the stomach for breakfast, have something small for lunch and eat my main meal at about 5pm (although I've just finished eating now at almost 8).

I have always eaten my heaviest meal at dinner time. Eating a light dinner always leaves me feeling unsatisfied, like I haven't had enough. I'll wind up going in for seconds about an hour later, so I've learned that I come out better just to eat a heavier meal to begin with.

I'm the same way Princess. Eating my heavy meal at the end of the day just says I'm done for the day and now I can relax. It's going to be hard to break this habit.

I tried it yesterday, ate big at lunch and then had some noodles for dinner - about 1/2 hour later I was eating the trick or treat chocolates cos I was starving!

They say breakfast but I always make it dinner, as I get way too hungry at bedtime!

This is difficult for me, too--I'm never hungry in the morning, but I'm starving at night! I've tried to change up my routine to train my stomach, but it's no use. If I don't have at least a snack, I'll wake up in the middle of the night.

I've read that it is best to eat big meals early in the day. You don't want to sit idly or sleep with a lot of food in your stomach. You'll end up fat. I usually eat the biggest meal at lunch because I am in no mood to chow down in the morning.

I force the smallest amount of breakfast in the mornings as it is and lunch I don't have time for large main meals, I can't imagine many do or that it's even realistic at work etc.

Dinner is our main meal but we have started eating at better times 5-6pm rather than 7-8pm x
