How do you cook your Gammon in the slow cooker?

Today I've got a joint I the slow cooker for the first time. I got some tips off a good foody friend.

Fennel seeds
Bay leaves
Cinnamon stick
Peppercorns (I had to use ground pepper)
3 unpeeled garlic cloves
Unpeeled onion (I had to use spring onions)
