My father would eat bread with literally every meal. Then mum started making her own bread but she sliced it and froze it. Now he has a slice the day it's made, when it's fresh, then the only other time he has a slice, it has to be toasted from the freezer. He has lost weight, needless to say!
I owned one and the novelty really wears off. I know some people who love their bread though if it be toasts, sandwiches, dipping soup, put chips in if for dinner, moping up bol/chilli dishes etc I must admit I love fresh bread but I will buy from the bakery on the day... Walking past is torture!
I can definitely say that if I had a loaf of freshly baked bread still warm from the oven, I would have a hard time not sitting there and eating it all. I am really addicted to bread.
I love bread, too, but only if it's fresh or a special kind. My local Fresh Market has all kinds of mouth-watering specialty breads that I have a really hard time ignoring. Their black pepper and cheese bread is great for grilled cheese. I have to be careful to make it a once-in-a-while treat.
