Trying to get used to black coffee

I always take coffee with cream and sugar. I just stopped doing that because I realized how many extra calories it added. I just can't enjoy this taste of black coffee. It tastes bitter. I'll have to find a sweetener and coffee whitener that I like that doesn't add fat or calories.

Can you use skim milk? And a sweetener.

I actually love black coffee, the stronger the better. I'm weird!

I had to get used to it too! I used to drink a lot of creamer and sugar in it. But tasting the coffee for what it really is with all of it's flavors and subtle hints of nuts, caramel, should really wake up your palate!

I've never been able to get used to straight, black coffee. Skim milk is a good whitener though, and Truvia is my favorite sugar substitute. Hope it helps.

Reminds me of my college days. I used to run out of creamer, milk, etc. One time I got so desperate I used Pixy Stix as a sweetener. Can't say I recommend it!

I can't cut it without creamer of some kind. I go with no-fat creamer (can't tolerate coffee and milk), and if I really need it to be sweet, I use sugar free syrup.

This morning I used some skim milk and added some Splenda, which is sucralose, and I didn't really care for it too much. It may take some getting used to. I'm not keen on using artificial sweeteners but a little in the morning shouldn't be too much trouble once I find one that I like.

Keep trying the other ones. What about the low-fat coffee creamers? I don't drink coffee - I hate the taste. There is no way I could drink it black. I drink low-fat cocoa.
