Gain muscle, ditch fat.

This is my current goal. I WANT a six pack. WANT WANT WANT.
I also want to ditch a LARGE percentage of my body fat, but you know, a six pack is tangible. I want to prove I can do it after having a baby (although he's 3 now) doesn't change the fact that my abdomen harboured him for nearly 37 weeks. 17% body fat is my over all aim. Otherwise apparently for women any less than that it can screw with your menstrual cycle etc, not what I need in life.

So, the protein intake has been increased massively. 1g per lb of body weight is what everyone says. It's hard work to eat that amount of protein. Carbs are coming from mainly leafy greens and berries. Low fat cottage cheese seems to have become a regular feature.

I don't really drink alcohol anymore

I allow myself 20g of 85% dark chocolate most days (rock n roll)

I drink 3 litres of water per day.

I'm combining HIIT with weight training.

Taking multivits (additional B vits too) Omega 3, a decent probiotic daily.

Anyone care to clarify if theres anything I'm missing? Or any dietary tips? My body type seems to cling to carbs. I love them but have to limit or I'll regret it.

I want to show I am toned but not as far as a massive six pack haha! I'm too wanting to do more weights and have gave up on running in my head (and my fat backside lol).

I had measurements done on 7 areas of my body and the PT was really surprised ... he said my arms are lean and hardly a pinch in them and it's hard to show arms on women but could get them showing fairly easily (or something like that).... I don't do compliments well so I part blocked off and of course the tum % didn't fall in line

From reading your posts you seem to have it well covered and on the same lines as me including just learning.

Trainers have told me not to be scared of good fats but I am ... .a lot!

Hah yeh good fats are ok, like extra Virgin olive oil, avocado, nuts etc but should still really only represent 20--30% of daily intake. It's the trans/sat fats that are the evil sent up directly from the pits of hell
Your goals are more realistic than mine which is good. I'm just the type that needs to make a nearly impossible challenge possible. I think it's a genetic defect x

I was told to ignore the graph on MFP and use the extra information what grams you have consumed.

I have really challenged myself this last couple of years but I've realised I enjoy it which is most important really ... although at the same time if I'm gonna get my ass sweaty yer I'd like a little something showing just need the extra I put on to piss off ...

I've already logged mine today:
11% carbs 38% fat 51% protein
Sat fat 14g
Trans fat 0g
Carbs 31g
Protein 135g

Pretty good - Today was arm day I'm loving it, intensity in the new place is high! The guys crave results.

That's great when you have trainers that are well into it. The enthusiasm is infectious Glad you're enjoying it. Are you in the lifestyle mindset yet or is it mission mindset? that's good stats for today! Yeh I always go into the detailed view on the macros so I can see it in numbers I'll check what mine is so far today....
total fat: 23g (poly 5g, mono 3g, sat 11g,)
carbs: 59g
protein 84g
got another 400 cals to eat. Mmh looks like its gonna be turkey and a protein shake
that's where I let myself down is on the planning. I need to get enough protein within my calorie deficit. Its harder than it sounds to get it nailed properly haha!
I have also had an arm/back/chest day. Can really feel it in my back already x

My biggest problem is I like a vodka Friday ... I can't drink as much I once did any way but this last 2 weeks I've been off it until Saturday just gone. Over th 2 week holidays I'd have usually had vodka Friday twice, couple to chill with on both Saturdays then used the holiday as an excuse to have a few more on a week day because there is no school! I ate pretty clean an no Easter eggs over the holidays too but I do also eat 85% choc

I do ok I think.

I'm off grains, wheat, potatoes and dairy (apart from a small allowed list) but I am bringing some of those foods back into my meals soon, I just needed to give myself some food discipline again.

What is you % on the graph for those stats (grams)?

An it isn't easy I agree .. feel so limited some days! x

Was it hard cutting dairy? I don't think I could do that. If i'm on a meal replacement plan I can but I really need white coffee in my life haha!
The graph is 44% protein, 30% carbs and 26% fat so far today. So really stats wise I only need 4% more protein to replace that fat with. Makes it sound simple but it's not haha!
Yeah the vodka.... I hear you. I'm predominantly a cider drinker and we've had to part ways, this makes me very sad. Have cut down massively on the drinking, only 3 times this year so far! For me that's amazing, normally I don't go a day without a pint x

I've been strict but I'm allowed full fast natural greek yog (fage I buy ... lol), cottage cheese, feta/goats cheese.... I did have some parmesan cheese on top of bol.

To be fair my dairy problem was coffee 2 sugars too many times other than that I only really did cheese on egg, spinach and tomato muffins! I now have almond milk and decaf (most time decaf any way lol)!

I drink vodka so it's the cleanest but the with what is the problem! I love the flavoured ciders!

See your carbs are up where as my fat is but carbs down,my graphs will change soon.
