I agree that stretching is really important! There are so many muscles we never even realize we have until the moment comes when we overwork one of them. Stretching is the best way to prevent that!

Stretching after Hernia operation?

I like to sound a note of caution for all those exercise buffs who've had hernia operation: be careful. Before I had a hernia operation, I used to do a lot of push-ups and stretching. Now two years after the operation, I find that I still experience a sharp pain in my lower abdomen anytime I exercise. So all those in similar situation, take care how you exercise.

I would think that stretching would help prevent many injuries. I don't know what hernia's and stretching has to do with each other. I thought hernia's were caused from lifting too much weight?

I have back problems and this is one step of the day I have to remember to do. If I don't I end up pulling a muscle and sore for a week. My doctor said to do it in the morning and especially during the day when I've been sitting for longer than an hour at work.

Stretching before and after workout always helps. You stay loose and do not get cramps while you are working out. It most certainly doesn't hurt tissue it does helps the muscles. You should also stretch before running. Leg stretches for running. And arm extends for upper body.

This is right! Stretching is always useful - after sleep, before sleep, after long sitting at the work place. And of course you should ALWAYS do stretching before and after any exercises!!!

That's Right, I think you should stretch your muscles daily after exercising. Sometimes you know i skip stretching. At that time i have noticed that i started to have back pain. So don't skip stretching.
