Using Free weights

I have wanted to do free weights for a while, but the free weights section at the gym is always full of big muscly men and I was scared of looking stupid, so I always stick to the weight machines. But today I was brave and went in and used some dumbbells! Hopefully this will give me the confidence to try them out more often now!

Free weights are great but only if you know what you are doing. You can hurt yourself quite easily if you don't know what you are doing. I love the weight machines. There are always directions on ours here. They really only go one way so your chances of doing it wrong are slim. With free weights, you can pretty much do anything you want to. So be careful that you don't hurt yourself.

I know this is old, but did you continue to use free weights? How is it going?

I've only ever really used weights and don't enjoy cardio. We have olympic weights and a bar in the garage.

Hi Shelly! I am still doing the weights. I use a mix of weights machines and free weights and it's going really well!
