I've done myself a mischief!

I'm gutted! I was planning on doing a 10k route today, set out, tbh I felt awful from the get go! I'm really bloated and it just didn't feel comfortable running. Turned a corner at about 10 mins in and just felt something ping in my thigh! The pain went right down and is sore in my heel too. You know that feeling where it feel like you're walking on broken glass?

I hobbled my way home, stopping to stretch a few times and had a good stretch when I got home, but it's still not right I'm having a bath to try and relax it and hopefully it'll get better quickly. But what bad timing! There's only 6 weeks to go til the race an I was really ramping up the training, especially with wanting to lose a bit for weddings in the next couple of weeks!

ok there are not pants but tights ...here what i found:

What are running tights?

Running tights will keep those active legs warm during an early morning or late evening run, but thanks to the innovative designs of today, they will do so much more than that. Running tights or leggings have become an essential piece of high performance kit due to their compression features which you help get more miles in and recover quicker.

Why do I need them?

There’s much more to a pair of running tights than just keeping your assets warm and comfortable during a chilly winter run. Developments in running gear technology have given the once humble pair of lycra running tights a new lease of life, which has made them a must-have for any keen runner. Running tights can now help wick away sweat, keep your body at the right temperature and help to aid blood circulation with their unique compression function. This compression will improve your run as well as boosting your recovery and help you fight fatigue. The range of styles and lengths also means you can have a pair ready for any type of weather. Whether you need ¾ lengths for a summer sprint or some warm long-john style leggings, you will feel the benefit of a great bit of kit.

Things to look for in a pair of running tights

Wicking - Stay cool and dry with a pair of running tights that will wick away the sweat to avoid becoming a sweaty mess on that run. When looking into buying a pair, you will notice that different brands have their own names for wicking fabrics such as Dri-Fit from Nike.

Compression - Compression in running tights works by limiting your muscle movement and assisting circulation which helps to avoid injury and speed up your recovery.

Warmth - A good pair of running leggings should keep you warm during a cold run by creating a warm pocket of air around your skin.

Versatility - One of the best reasons to pick up a pair of running tights from SportPursuit today is their versatility. You can use them for cycling, running, skiing or as a reliable base layer in extreme conditions. The different lengths also mean you can grab a range of tights to equip yourself for any type of weather.

Comfort - Make sure you know the size that will suit you and give yourself every chance of having a great run. You don’t want to be squeezed into a pair, but you need a good fit to be able to take advantage of what running tights have to offer.

Choosing the right pair for you

Compression tights - Compression gear will help to aid recovery, reduce fatigue and avoid injury during tough training sessions during the race. If you’re a regular runner, then a pair of compression tights will really help you go an extra mile whilst helping prepare you to go again tomorrow.

Full length - Ideal for cold weather, full length tights will keep your pins covered, comfortable and warm during those freezing winter months.

¾ length - Finishing at the mid-calf area, ¾ lengths will keep you warm, but can also be used during mild weather - if we ever get any!

Knee high - Suitable for warm weather to look after those busy quads whilst keeping you as cool as possible.

Added extras

Zips & Pockets - Small, compact pockets are ideal for holding your little essentials as you try to keep your hands as free as possible. Usually located in the hip or back pocket area, an unobtrusive pocket is great for keeping your keys in.

Reflective panels - Most pairs of running tights come with reflective panels around the ankle and knee areas to ensure you can go running in safety at any time of night that suits you.

Just take it easy when I was ready to run through it I was asked would I prefer a couple of days off or a couple of weeks... That was the risk. The ladies I run with were great we went to the local for a shandy and refill coffee instead

PrincessPikachu - I am glad it's feeling better today.

I did a little checking (it's the nurse in me) into Champix and it does have a side effect for some people that causes spasms, muscle weakness, and cramps. Please be careful not to push too hard.
